What’s better than taking some time out of your Las Vegas experience to visit the Grand Canyon? A Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour!

This tour was one of the most incredible experiences and not just because the crew was awesome. Besides being super nice, our pilot doubled as a tour guide pointing out all the really cool places to look and providing us with  a bit of western American history.

In addition to getting a birds eye view of the Grand Canyon, this tour also boasts spectacular views of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Guano and Eagle Points, the famous SkyWalk, the strip and includes a  landing (where you can get out and take pictures) on the floor of the Grand Canyon 4000 feet below the Canyon rim!

Add in a light meal with refreshments next to the Colorado River with a champagne toast before liftoff and you are on your way to making your trip to Las Vegas, the trip of a lifetime.

While prices for the Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour may run a little steep, it’s a must do, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The helicopter that I rode in had a large cabin area with specially designed sightseeing windows and comfortable, stadium seating for 180 degrees of unobstructed views.

Also, by wearing a headset, I was able to communicate freely with the pilot and other members of my party. This way, I learned a lot about the Grand Canyon and surrounding landmarks.

So Peaceful…at one point, the pilot turned on the radio and played ‘Ride of the Valkyrie’ – so funny! I felt like I was in a movie and about to do something really bad-ass!*;-)
