This Monday, Derek Warburton of DerekLovesShopping.com worked his styling skills to raise money for Housing Works. The event called, Runway to Room, was held at the Grange Showroom in NYC and featured a hand picked (by Derek himself) selection of gently used designer clothing from the Housing Works warehouse! Cabana Cachaca, Brazilian Rum, sponsored the event which also included platters of tasty treats like mini-quiches and red velvet cupcakes. (Yum!)
Derek invited his friends to the designer showroom to sip champagne, Cabana Cachaca cocktails and to get some styling advice. All proceeds from the event went to support Housing Works. Housing Works provides a range of lifesaving and empowering services to more than 20,000 New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS. Housing Works is the largest community-based AIDS service organization in the United States, as well as the nation’s largest minority-controlled AIDS service organization. Since the organization’s founding in 1990, they have provided lifesaving services, such as housing, medical and mental health care, meals, job training, drug treatment, HIV prevention education, and social support to homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS.
