HomeGoods Opens A Manhattan Location!

Friday, I attended the  grand opening of HomeGoods in Manhattan!

The new store is located at 795 Columbus Ave. (99th and Columbus) and is enormous!

I am already a fan of HomeGoods but my experience on Friday was the awesome shopping experience I am used to – times ten!

For starters, the store is enormous – I mean, way bigger than it looks on the outside and way bigger than the locations I have been to in the past. Upon entering, the Manhattan location seems big enough, but then once you descend down the escalator to the bottom level, it’s gigantic! In fact, the two story HomeGoods location is an enormous 20,000-square-feet!

The store consists of row upon row of fun trinkets, organizational gadgets, frames, stationary, bedding, furniture, and enough fun supplies for home entertaining to make a host or hostess drool with excitement!

To add to the grand opening/shopping experience, HomeGoods and the wonderful folks from kwittken + company treated a few lucky shoppers, which included celebrities like Kelly Bensimon, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen, fashion designer – Eli Tahari, Holly Robinson, Nate Berkus, and plenty more to a scrumptious spread of orderves, champagne, sparkling water, and desserts!

While I completely enjoyed the wonderful orderves, (seared tuna, coconut shrimp, and other tasty morsels), the best part of the event was definitely the shopping!

Kelly Bensimon was just leaving when I got there so I didn’t get a chance to say “hello”.

But, I did have a second to talk with Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen, who were buying a few cart fulls of HomeGoods goodies. I congratulated Simon on his new song, ‘I am Real’ and then made a few purchases of my own.

Since I had another event to attend after leaving, I had to be careful about going overboard (very difficult given the low prices!). Seriously, for just around $50 I bought a gorgeous clutch, a make-up case, a frame with gorgeous glass detailing, some really fun stationary, and a much needed organizational tray to house some of my jewelry!

HomeGoods gets new shipments in weekly so the selection is always being updated. The wonderul and talented folks who stock the shelves travel the globe, searching markets for one-of-a-kind, handcrafted merchandise which is then sold for crazy low price!
