Good morning, New York. I see we have another couple of rainy days ahead of us so get out the umbrellas, rain gear and such! If you are anything like me you own a handful of such neccessities from last minute purchases from street vendors. I have a terrible habit of leaving my apartment with just enough time to catch my train which means no turning around and taking the elevator back up to the 14th floor…once I exit the lobby I must just pray that the weather holds up until I get wherever I am headed.

I am getting MUCH better at checking the weather before leaving my apartment. In Orlando (Florida) I never had this problem – it was always sunny with a midday thunderstorm in which everyone went inside.

Aaah…how I miss the simplicities!

On another note, today I am covering two events for FashionNewsLive.com. The first is a DerekLovesShopping event which will be hosted by Derek and marks the 20th anniversary and the 10th store opening of Housing Works. For more information on Housing Works you can go to their website at http://www.housingworks.orgor in the spirit of Derek Loves Shopping you can donate by shopping at http://www.shophousingworks.com.

The 2nd event is Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2010 which brings together fashion’s most fabulous for a dazzling evening of cocktails, a silent auction, and haute couture on the runway.

International Fashion and Luxury companies come together with New York City’s charitable and social communities to benefit four of the most worthy non-profit organizations that improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS and members of the LGBTQ community.

Can’t wait and hopefully, I’ll see you there!
