Allegri, one of the world’s premiere outwear companies, will participate in the Fall/Winter 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a special outdoor presentation at the Lincoln Center Courtyard. Allegri is turning 40 and has chosen to celebrate this milestone at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. This significant anniversary celebrates brand awareness and looks to the future with of top-the-line collections created through technology, research, functionality and comfort.

Throughout the years the Vinci-(hometown of Leonardo) based Italian company has introduced collections with innovative new materials and has been at the forefront of finding unique ways to provide protection from the elements. These efforts have gained Allegri the title ‘The Architects of Fabrics’.

The exhibit-style presentation in New York will transport guests through four decades of fashion – through four decades of Allegri. The presentation will feature mannequins displaying a selection of the best historical pieces from Allegri’s archives, as well as a preview of the new FW 2011 collection on models. The technology applied to fabrics has been further developed in the Fall Winter 2011 collection.

Winter jackets are warm and functional with virtually invisible high-tech padding that does not affect the silhouettes of the pieces. The collection features dual nature materials: from the organic feel of Techno Wool and Rain Cashmere, to the functionality of synthetic fibers like Microsuede, wrinkle proof Polytravel and Super Light Nylon that weights 30 grams per sq meter.

Furthermore, a luxurious Double Silk, water repellent and windproof trench coat was selected to highlight the 40th anniversary.

“We are thrilled to be participating in New York Mercedes Benz Fashion Week’ says Allegri’s President Gian Maria Argentini. “We are a company which prides itself on creating outerwear that nobody else can do by ‘fusing’ the unexpected fabrics with a style that is quintessentially ‘italiano’.”

Allegri is a company with unique craftsmanship and attention to detail, which is what makes it so different from most fashion companies,“ said Peter Levy, svp and managing director of IMG Fashion Worldwide. “It’s a brand that has stayed true to its Italian heritage of style and craftsmanship and we are excited to have them in our lineup with a truly creative and unique presentation.”

Allegri’s presence in New York will also celebrate the brand’s involvement in a charity venture. The brand is supporting the mission of the Francesca Rava Foundation, which is committed to building a new orphanage in Haiti. The foundation will benefit from the sales of the book ‘HAITI’, Through the eye of Stefano Guindani’ featuring a selection of images by Italian photographer Stefano Guindani captured during his 7 trips to Haiti since 2008 and presented with a photographic exhibition in New York.
