While Game of Thrones might not exactly scream high fashion (at first glance), it has me completely intrigued! Apparently, the show’s fantasy inspired garments have also caught the attention of fashion designer Helmut Lang who recently debuted a line of clothing directly inspired by the series!
The runway photos below are from Helmut Lang’s Fall 2012 collection. Although the designer has admittedly derived his inspiration from the Game of Thrones series, I am going to take it a step further and guess that these particular designs were inspired by the character Daenerys Targaryen – in fact at first glance, I thought the model on the far left was Emilia Clarke, the actress who plays the character!
I love the leather detailing – a popular trend on the runways this season, and the asymmetrical neckline seen in the middle look. The cape with an over-sized scarf, as seen in the right photo, is very nostalgic of wintery walks in the woods as is often the case on the show. In real life, this look is sure to keep you fashionably warm!
