During Aruba In Style 2011, stylist Christina Pierce and I had the opportunity to sit at some really amazing shows and to attend some really great events and parties. One of our favorite shows was Marcelo Quadros, who designed a jewel-inspired collection that was glamorous and reflected the ‘colors of the tropics’. MQ couldn’t have asked for a better setting to show his resort wear than Aruba. Aruba’s great beaches have everything from green palms to pink flamingos and plenty of colorful sunsets and sunrises to add to the backdrop that represent the ‘colors of the tropics’  Marcelo was inspired by.

Marcelo Quadros showed his 2012 Resort collection at the runway at the Renaissance, which is only steps from the ocean and a short boat ride away from the resort’s private island. After the show, Christina and I chatted with Marcelo, and his leading model/Real Housewife of Miami, Adriana De Moura, at Kathy Hilton’s seaside party. This event was also pretty great with a spectacular view, plenty of gorgeous fashion, bocci, yummy cocktails, and even classical musicians playing top 40 renditions in the background! Video below.

About Marcelo Quadros:

Marcelo Quadros started his career as a designer in 1990. After developing several collections under his own labels and as Ellus’s designer, Marcelo decided to explore a new niche in the Brazilian fashion market.

Starting in 1999, Marcelo directed his focus to the luxury market, developing a label that is known for its elegance, sophistication and high aggregated value.

After showing eight collections during the “Casa dos Criadores”, the Brazilian new designers fashion week, Marcelo was invited to be part of the Fashion week of The Americas and the Sao Paulo Fashion week- SPFW, starting his successful ‘new phase’ in January 2003. Besides his own label Marcelo started Marcelo Quadros Couture creating clothes ‘sur mesure’.
