Monday night, I attended the Eighth Annual “A Second Helping of Life” Event which took place at Pier 60 overlooking the river and attention grabbing mega yachts. The event is held by SHARE, a New York City-based not-for-profit organization that offers peer -led support to women with breast or ovarian cancer.

The fabulous Lori Lengua, from Make it Known PR,  invited me to come and sample the foods and beverages offered from some of the best restaurants and chefs in the world, including one of my favorite spots to dine, Dos Caminos. The Dos Caminos table offered up some tasty ahi tuna tacos that were beyond delicious!

In addition to tasty treats and cocktails, the annual event boasts a long list of celebrity chefs who come out to show their support for the organization while showing off their culinary skills. In fact, every year for the past 8 years, top NYC-based female chefs and celebrities have come together, at this same location, to help those affected by breast or ovarian cancer.  The event has become like a NYC tradition with a sumptuous reception of delectable food, signature cocktails, fine wines and silent and live auction.  Read more after the jump…
