Via Spiga’s Creative Director Paola Venturi is leading this season’s footwear with luxurious sandals, platform wedges, and statement heels that are made to be as comfortable as they are fashionable.

Via Spiga is an Italian brand named after Via della Spiga, one Milan’s most prestigious and upscale shopping streets, and Paola Venturi is no doubt delivering opulent designs for the fashion forward woman.

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Paola Venturi during an exclusive runway presentation in New York City where she spoke about her inspiration behind the designs, her creative detailing in the production and how Via Spiga shoes are so comfortable. (She personally tests each of her designs).

When  Via Spiga’s Creative Director Paola Venturi began working on the brand’s Spring 2011 Collection, she was sure to meet her own high expectations for style and comfort.

Architecturally speaking, Paulo is always sure that each of her designs fits the wearer in a way that allows for maximum comfort. One of the ways she does this is by creating sandals that wrap around the foot, creating a secure fit. In this way, women can wear high heels and platforms, yet still feel secure while walking – so important!

For Via Spiga’s Spring 2011 Collection, Paola Venturi was inspired by  a Native American footwear exhibit and rich cultural heritage and handcrafted details.

Raw edges, exotic textures, woven leather, and natural fibers adorn high wedges covered in rope and embellished with beading and contemporary details.

Sophistication and confidence rules this season’s collection with colors dripping in neutrals like cappuccino and caramel with pops of tomato red and fiesta blue.
