I recently had the pleasure of meeting the owner of KAIGHT an eco-friendly clothing and accessories store in New York City. It was so exciting to visit a place where fashion is not only eco-friendly but still fashionable! Kaight carries shoes, belts, swimsuits, reconstructed vintage dresses, the softest T-shirts you could ever imagine, vegetable based nail polish, jewelry, belts, etc, etc! If you are an eco-minded fashionista then it will be hard not to find something you like! Kaight even offers up a portion of her boutique to local artists and designer such as Pulp Lab and is constantly updating the merchandise. This means there is always something new to look at! Over the next few weeks, I am going to be writing about some of the products she carries as a way to start incorporating some eco-minded blogging into my site! Let me know what you think!!!

This past Thursday (May 6th), Carl Pascuzzi (www.edgewallcoverings.com) donated his creative talent to raise money for Housing Work's Design on a Dime event. This year marked Housing Works Thrift Shop's 6th Annual Design on a Dime fundraising event which kicked off with an Opening Night Reception at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.
The idea is that 50 of the world's top interior designers come together to create unforgettable room vignettes with new merchandise, donated and then sold for 50 - 70% off retail pricing. Lifestyle guru, Derek Warburton (DerkLovesShopping.com) was one of this year's designer and his aesthetic was inspired by Carl Pascuzzi's custom made wallpaper!
Good morning, New York. I see we have another couple of rainy days ahead of us so get out the umbrellas, rain gear and such! If you are anything like me you own a handful of such neccessities from last minute purchases from street vendors. I have a terrible habit of leaving my apartment with just enough time to catch my train which means no turning around and taking the elevator back up to the 14th floor...once I exit the lobby I must just pray that the weather holds up until I get wherever I am headed.
I am getting MUCH better at checking the weather before leaving my apartment. In Orlando (Florida) I never had this problem - it was always sunny with a midday thunderstorm in which everyone went inside.
Aaah...how I miss the simplicities!
