Cool Ways to Save Money, When Prepping for the Prom!

Flower hair pins for the Prom

As prom approaches us in the upcoming spring months, teenagers are in a frenzy trying to be the best dressed without draining their pockets. Prom can be a VERY expensive ordeal with dresses costing up to $1,000 (or more!). A recent study by American Express stated that the average teen spends about $1,400 on each prom they attend.

What many people don’t know is that there are many cheaper alternatives to achieving glamorous, prom looks. For example you can bedazzle your own shoes! I have done this for a few events. It’s super easy, and fairly cheap. I use old heels that I already have, or I go to my local Savers. I buy the glue (about $5), the crystals (about $25), and tweezers. You can add as many or as little crystals as you want. The great part is you’ll have hot shoes without spending all your money. read more

Holiday Shop With Label District

Label District Shirt

I’m Back!! And as the holiday season approaches, I’m sure we’re all asking the same question: What do I buy my loved ones for Christmas?

Well guiltily I admit, I’m terrible with gift giving ideas but one thing I ALWAYS buy, that I can’t go wrong with, is clothes or gift cards. You can NEVER fail with those. If you’re buying for a woman you should check out Label District.

Label District has the hottest and most affordable fashions for gifts. The clothes, as I’ve said before, are so versatile. The dresses can easily be layered with sweaters, tights, and boots in the winter then you can wear them plain in the summer. That way, you have an outfit for each season without having to buy several pieces. More…

Great White Way Quinceanera Launch

DSCN1451

This past weekend I attended the Quinceanera launch at the Great White Way bridal salon in Watertown Connecticut. I had previously written about it and was excited to attend. I loved the culture and the presentation of the line. There was center pieces set up everywhere from Perfectly Posh. What I was surprised to learn is that Perfectly Posh does all kinds of events. I loved the center pieces and all the work put into the presentation by the salon and Perfectly Posh. There was a Spanish radio broadcasting live from the event and a beautiful model displaying one of the dresses..It was so fabulously set up and there were so many consultants on hand and ready to help. I was so impressed with the day and was so happy to be apart of it

Label District’s Fabulous Fall Fashion Finds

Label district free spirt dress

It’s that time again! Our monthly post from Label District has arrived! This month in New England at least the “Fall” weather has been so weird. One day its 40 degrees, the next day its 80. So having your set fall wardrobe is almost impossible this season. So I want to bring to your attention some must have fall pieces from Label District, whether the weather be hot or cold you will be covered. As for warmer fall weather I wouldn’t recommend tank tops or anything because keep in mind it still is fall. We should be in flats, or boots, the sandal days are over. As for the normal cold weather clothes, cardigans and jeans are fab! Below I will list some of my favorite outfits and what you can pair them with. The colorful Boho dress gives a great fall flair with the colors, paired with some blue/orange tights and a cardigan this dress will accommodate any kind of weather! Another dress that’s fab is the Free Spirit dress. The dress is great and will flatter most any figure. It’s more of a dressy dress but will look great dressed up or down. As always you can find these fabulous finds for great prices at www.labeldistrict.com

Old Navy and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Old Navy tee

As everyone has been hearing Breast Cancer Awareness month is upon us. This is a month that’s very close to my heart. A few years ago my best friend, my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer unexpectedly. I say unexpectedly because she was one of the few who’s mammogram came up fine, but when she had an ultrasound they found the tumor. It was such a scary time in our lives but she NEVER complained. She is my hero and without her I don’t know what I would have done. Sure I knew people with cancer, my grandfather died from it when I was in 5th grade, but what I didn’t know is how much it changes lives.

Physically, mentally, and emotionally I don’t think you can ever understand how badly Breast Cancer effects a woman unless you have it.. For awhile it makes a woman stop feeling like a woman. Your breasts can be eventually fixed but the scars stay forever, and it’s a constant reminder of what you went through and that’s not always a good thing. About a year or so after my mom was diagnosed, my aunt (her sister) was diagnosed.

My world changed, I felt like cancer defined us and I was tired of it. My mom was healing and my aunt was sick, it was a never ending cancer filled 2 years. I hated it. But now they’re all better and in remission, I really feel my responsibility to bring light to Breast Cancer Awareness and research. One of my favorite companys has made it their goal this month to bring Breast Cancer Awareness to light in style…..
