DL1961 Premium Denim thinks they’ve finally mastered the “perfect fitting jeans.” Tonight, the group presented its first ever runway show, during New York Fashion Week, to showcase their form fitting jeans for Spring/Summer 2013. The collection paid a tribute to the brand’s New York City roots with a display of men’s and women’s denim, showcasing the latest in fashion-forward and trendsetting washes, prints and textures, as well as distressing, hand embroidery and leather accents. The runway show took place at Pier 57 and unveiled what the company describes as “couture embroidery’ with cool metallic tones, muted pastels, a plethora of prints and a throwback to acid washed jeans, denim jackets and vests.
“This season, DL1961 honors New York City’s rich heritage and gritty aesthetic by honing in on the effortlessly chic and glamorous lifestyle New Yorkers are known for” said Sarah Ahmed, DL1961 Creative Director.
DJ Mia Moretti and Electric Violinist Caitlin Moe were the featured performers at the after party and gave an amazing performance following the DL1961 Premium Denim fashion show. The performance was truly awe inspiring; words can not describe the energy in the room! Check out my video and see for yourself!
