Naeem Khan is a New York based, Indian-American fashion designer, who’s designs have been worn by celebrities including Beyoncé, Carrie Underwood, Eva Longoria, Leighton Meester, and First Lady Michelle Obama (to name a few).
For his Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Naeem Khan uses luxurious fabrics as a base for intricate bead work, embroidery, and creative tailoring. Shimmering satin, embellished lace and just about every color you can imagine come together to create a stunning visual experience that is truly outstanding and absolutely reflective of his Indian heritage!
There is a mix of red carpet worthy evening gowns, along with some high end casual wear items that seems to be riding on the sports wear trend. The jogging pant/sweatshirt combo which is super popular right now is re-imagined using unconventional fabrics like satin and sequins. Also on trend, is the see through, mesh overlay, which is seen in quite a few of the dresses, both long and short.
After watching, and re-watching this runway show, I have to say that there isn’t a single look that I would kick out of my closet. Well done, Naeem Khan, well done.
