Carlos Miele presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the collection was definitely a walk on the wild side!

Animal prints, bold chiffons, and colors of the tropics graced the runway this season in patterns full of movement and sartorial drama, which Carlos Miele best described as stepping “into a hallucinatory jungle”.

As a Brazilian designer, Carlos Miele chose the palette for this season’s collection based on the colors of the Brazilian flag, which is a combination of green, yellow, and blue.

The animal print and jungle themed patterns found throughout his designs were zoo inspired after a recent trip with his young son. Carlos Miele was impressed by how the birds moved and by the strength of the large cats, incorporating this motif into a series of elegant gowns.

Celebrity guests included Vanessa Williams, Paula Abdul, Daisy Fuentes, and Kelly Bensimon.
