Elin Nordegren has decided to demolish her 9,000 square foot mansion in North Palm Beach, Florida, which she purchased in March 2011 shortly after she had received an estimated $100 million divorce settlement.
The wealthy, ex-wife of legendary golfer, Tiger Woods apparently wasn’t happy with the 6 bedroom, 8 bathroom luxury pad because it “wasn’t quite up to her standards.” (TMZ) So, Elin did what any unhappy mansion owner would do; she hired a “high priced architect” (from the architectural firm Dailey Janssen) to build her “dream home.” (Onshore Construction & Development, which built Tiger Woods’ nearby Jupiter Island pad, is handling the development and construction of the project.) While waiting for their new home, scheduled to be complete by December 2014, Elin and her kids have moved into a private community mansion where they will remain until the new house is complete. Some details that have been released tell us that Elin’s “Dream Home” includes a wine room, gym and theater with stadium seating in the basement, a cedar-shake roof, French doors, a great room, a library, a family room, a playroom for daughter Sam and son Charlie and a kitchen measuring 29 by 18 feet, and of course, a sweeping ocean view!
Nordegren’s “Dream Home” will also include a 1,200-square foot master suite, replete with bedroom, sitting room, bathroom, closets and dressing area, all with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, on the second floor, along with three more guest rooms with their own private baths.
